Las Vegas National Golf Course

Partnering with the PGM program, American Golf provides our students with extensive access to five playing and practice facilities. Las Vegas National, home to Tiger Woods’ first PGA Tour win, is the student’s main home course, located only 5-10 minutes from campus.

You will forget you are in the desert when you visit the Las Vegas National Golf Club. This exquisite championship golf course is the former home of the PGA Tour's Las Vegas Invitational and is conveniently located only two miles from The Strip. Classic in design, this golf club combines rolling fairways, glistening lakes, and greens well protected by palm, pine, and olive trees.

The Sahara Invitational, a PGA Tour event, was hosted here from 1969 through 1976. Winners were as follows:

1969: Jack Nicklaus
1970: Babe Hiskey
1971: Lee Trevino
1972: Lanny Watkins
1973: John Mahaffey
1974: Al Gieberger
1975: Dave Hill
1976: George Archer

The Sahara Country Club became property of American Golf Corporation on November 15, 1982. American Golf and The Las Vegas Hilton joined forces in 1994 and renamed the property The Las Vegas Hilton Country Club. From 1994 to 1997 our course was one of three properties to host the Las Vegas Invitational. Winners include Davis Love III, Bruce Litzsky, Jim Furyk, and Tiger Woods. Tiger won his first PGA Tour event in Las Vegas and shot 70 at our course, his highest round for the week.

After a four year partnership, the course was renamed The Las Vegas National Golf Club in 1998.
