THE DEPARTMENT

The Tourism & Convention department offers a major in Meetings and Events Management with a Bachelor of Science in Hotel Administration and a Bachelor of Science with a major in recreation. Students can focus in areas such as meetings and expositions, entertainment and event management, and tourism administration. Other courses include hospitality accounting and finance, hospitality marketing, and private club management. The department also offers instruction in association management, concert and sports arena management, and cruise ship management. Also available is the Professional Golf Management program, certified by the PGA.

The Tourism and Convention Administration Department in the William F. Harrah College of Hotel Administration is committed to providing cutting-edge educational opportunities that teach our students how to think strategically and be prepared for leadership and the inevitable changes in the tourism and hospitality fields (such as casino, club, convention and exposition, entertainment, food service, lodging, and resort industries) and leisure studies.
