
Christopher Cain, M.S., PGA, Director
Christopher is a 1998 graduate of the Penn State PGA Golf Management program, receiving his Master's degree from the Penn State Department of Recreation and Tourism Management in 2004. During his seven years of experience as a golf professional, he served private, municipal, resort, and high-end daily fee operations. As Head Golf Professional, Christopher shared in a facility honor by receiving the PGA Philadelphia Section Merchandiser of the Year Award from 2000-2002. Christopher joined the staff at UNLV in 2004 as Director of the PGA Golf Management Program and Associate Professor in Residence with the William F. Harrah College of Hotel Administration. Christopher has served local, regional, and national associations including being a member of the board of directors for: the PGA Southwest Section, The First Tee of Southern Nevada, the Southern Nevada Golf Association, and currently Honorary President of the PGA Southern Nevada Chapter. Christopher has been honored by receiving the PGA's Horton Smith, Bill Strausbaugh, and Golf Professional of the Year award from the Southern Nevada Chapter, the PGA's Horton Smith award from the Southwest Section and the Penn State PGA Golf Management Alumnus of the Year in 2007. Christopher also serves the PGA nationally as an Adjunct Faculty Member for apprentice education, and member of the PGA University Golf Management Accreditation Team.
Christopher Brown, M.Ed., Assistant Director/Internship Coordinator
Chris received his B.S. and M.Ed. in recreation administration from the University of Georgia. He has worked in the golf industry as an assistant professional and retail consultant and has had a variety of experiences in administering recreation programs to diverse populations.
Barbara Hermes, Administrative Assistant
Barbara has been the administrative assistant for the PGA golf management program since January 2004. She carries with her 39 years of experience in administrative assistant work, including experience as a business owner in Hollywood, Fla. She began her career at UNLV working in the Office of the Vice Provost for Research, human resources, and then came to the PGA program.
