Guidelines for Contributors
Manuscripts will be accepted for review by the editor with the understanding
that their content is unpublished and is not being submitted for publication
elsewhere. Maximum length is 25-28 (double-spaced) pages in a 12-point font,
with one-inch margins on all sides.
All manuscripts are to be submitted electronically to: james.busser@unlv.edu
Copy must be prepared according to the following instructions:
Form
- All materials must be neatly typed, double-spaced (including executive
summary and references) on 8 1/2 x 11-inch white paper using a 12-point
font with adequate margins.
- All pages should be numbered consecutively.
- The author's name should
appear only on the title page and nowhere else in the manuscript.
- Each
table, drawing, illustration, or map must be prepared on a separate
page and keyed to the text. All drawings, illustrations, and maps submitted
must be camera-ready (for reduction to a 4 7/8 x 8" page size);
their publication cannont be guaranteed otherwise. Photo-copied drawings,
illustrations or maps are unacceptable. All photographs submitted must
be large black and white glossies.

Executive Summary
- Each paper should be summarized in a 350-400 word executive
summary (in lieu of an abstract).
- The executive summary will preface
the paper and should enable the reader to get an overview of the entire
paper, with particular attention (1/2 the summary) to the need for
the paper and the managerial and professional implications of the findings.
- Three
to five key words that describe the content of the article and can
be used for computer retrieval should be under the executive summary.
Note: Manuscripts will be returned to author if no executive summary is included.

Notes and References
- Include only references to books, articles, and
bulletins actually cited in the text.
- All references should follow
the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (5th
Ed.).
- References in the text should cite the author's last name, year
of publication, and page (where appropriate): thus, (Lucas, 1972, p.85)
or (Birch, 1972).
- All references should appear as shown below or in
the APA Manual and at the end of the typescript, not at the foot of
the page. Typical journal entries would appear as follows:
Beaman,
J.S. (1974). Distance and "reaction" to distance as
a function of distance. Journal of Leisure Research, 6(2), 220-231.
Gold,
S.M., & White, P.R. (1973). Urban recreation planning. Englewood
Cliffs, NJ: Prentice-Hall.

Spelling and Hyphenation
- The authority is Webster's
Unabridged Dictionary.

Permissions
- If any figure, table, or more than a few
lines of text from previously published materials are included in a manuscript,
the author must obtain written permission for replication from the copyright
holder.

Affiliation
- On the title page include full name of the
author(s), academic professional affiliation(s), a brief running head,
and the complete address, phone number, and e-mail address of the person
to whom proofs and correspondence should be sent.
- All manuscripts are
reviewed anonymously, so the name(s) of the author(s) should only appear
on the title pages.
- Appropriate acknowledgments should also be included
on the title page.
