The focus is on gaining a comprehensive understanding of how the program works in order that it can be used in a powerful way to go well the basics of simple coding and retrieval of data. Examples from many disciplines and methods will be used to demonstrate how the features of the program can be harnessed in different ways to design and conduct a qualitative data analysis.

Please note: The Friday introductory session is a prerequisite for taking the hands-on workshop
The hands-on workshop is intensive, and is intended for participants ready to begin a data analysis shortly after attending the workshop. The focus is on (a) mastering the basics of setting up a project and conducting coding and basic exploration of data, and (b) experiencing all advanced features of the program. It is helpful but not necessary to have one’s own data at the workshop.
