| While classroom lectures are
important to any subject area, nothing can compare to actual work
experience in the field. Students in the Harrah Hotel College can
obtain practical work experience through a variety of programs
and settings. Students may work in the university's Hospitality
Research and Development Center, gaining hands-on experience in
market research; facility layout/design; tourism development; executive
development and other operations areas of a resort, hotel or food-service
business. Or students can travel and explore the global aspects
of the industry. In the Summer Studies in Switzerland program,
students learn the similarities and differences of cooking styles
and wine making in different regions of Europe . They also study
the hospitality industry as an international business as well as
European travel and tourism. Whatever your interest, the college
is your partner in helping you gain the experience you desire.
